Mother remains present throughout every stage of life: “May Ratchanok” sent a message to her late mother after winning her second badminton title in Japan this year.
On 17 Nov 2025, “May” Ratchanok Intanon, the beloved Thai female badminton player, claimed her first Kumamoto Masters Japan 2025 championship. She revealed a message she sent to her late mother: “Mom, I made it to the final, and I did it.”
In the final match last Sunday, May Ratchanok, seeded third and ranked ninth globally, faced fourth seed Gregoria Mariska Tunjung, ranked 11th worldwide from Indonesia. May delivered an excellent and decisive performance, winning 2-0 games with scores of 21-16 and 22-20.
This title marks May’s second championship of 2025, following her victory at the Indonesia Masters 2025 in January. It is also the eighth World Tour title of her professional career.
