Announcement_No.1 Warning of Summer Storm
The Meteorological Department issued Announcement No. 1 warning of a "summer storm" from 23–25 April. Check which provinces are involved and prepare for "heavy rain, strong winds, and hail."
On 21 April 2026, the Meteorological Department website announced "Summer Storm in Upper Thailand (Effective 23–25 April 2026) Announcement No. 1 (33/2569)." It stated that from 23–25 April, upper Thailand will experience a summer storm characterized by thunderstorms, strong gusty winds, lightning, and hail in some areas, beginning in the North, Northeast, and East.
The Central region, including Bangkok and its vicinity, will be affected later, as a high-pressure system or cold air mass from China spreads over the Northeast and South China Sea, while upper Thailand generally experiences hot to very hot weather.
Residents in those areas should be cautious of dangers from the summer storm by avoiding open spaces, large trees, weak structures, and billboards. Farmers should reinforce fruit trees and prepare to protect crops and livestock from potential damage, as well as take care of their health during weather changes.
Citizens are urged to follow announcements from the Meteorological Department and can get updates on the website http://www.tmd.go.th or via hotlines 0-2399-4012-13 and 1182 available 24 hours.
