Paethongtarn reveals the first family photo after Thaksin Shinawatra
entered prison, together with his three children—Oak, Aim, Ink—and their spouses, feeling as if they were reunited. She says her father is well and sends his concern to everyone.
At 15:15 on 27 Nov 2025 GMT+7, Ms. Paethongtarn Shinawatra, leader of the Pheu Thai family and former prime minister, posted a family photo on her personal Instagram during a visit to former prime minister Thaksin Shinawatra, her father. The photo shows Thaksin wearing a blue prisoner shirt with a short haircut as per the Department of Corrections’ regulations, alongside his three children: eldest son Panthongtae Shinawatra, middle daughter Pinthongta Shinawatra Kunakornwong, youngest daughter Paethongtarn Shinawatra, as well as son-in-law Mr. Pitak Suksawat, Paethongtarn’s husband, and daughter-in-law Ms. Natthiya Puangkam, wife of Panthongtae.
Ms. Paethongtarn posted a photo of her hand holding the family picture and wrote, “Nearly two hours that felt like truly being together again. Today, the prison arranged a close family visit event for relatives to meet, hug, and eat together,
without needing to talk through a phone glass. We also walked through a small market where the inmates sell food and art. We had the chance to support many stalls. For a moment, it felt like I was little Paethongtarn again, holding my father’s and siblings’ hands walking through the market like when I was a child. (Actually, Dad really likes fresh markets because he can pick ingredients himself for the meals he cooks for the family on Sundays.)” She concluded, “To everyone worried about Dad: he is well, aware of all the love and concern, and sends his care to everyone.”
