A lucky uncle won the first prize and received 12 million baht. He used a loudspeaker to announce free eggs for villagers and shared that his "lucky number" came from buying lottery tickets after dreaming he had died.
On Monday, 17 Nov 2025 GMT+7, reporters visited Village 1, Thung Praya Subdistrict, Sanam Chai Khet District, Chachoengsao Province, after social media buzzed about "a lucky uncle winning the first prize worth 12 million baht." They met and spoke with the son of Mr. Wanchai Sarathong, aged 60, the fortunate winner, who revealed that his father traveled to the Government Lottery Office in Bangkok to claim the prize for ticket number 458145.
Teachers, the subdistrict headman, and village leaders expressed their congratulations to Mr. Wanchai, saying he is a good person and a volunteer who has always helped with village activities.
Later that evening, when Mr. Wanchai and his wife returned home, the village headman of Village 1, Ban Ang Tabek, used a loudspeaker to invite villagers to receive free eggs. Mr. Wanchai told reporters he dreamed he had died and was being placed in a coffin to be cremated at the temple's crematorium. He woke up startled, hurried to Ban Krok Sombun market to buy lottery tickets, and found one ticket ending in 045 and two tickets ending in 145 on the stall, sold as a set. He bought the set. In the evening, neighbors gathered to watch the lottery draw and were delighted when he won the first prize. He was originally hoping to win with the number 45, which is also his child's car license plate number.
