Commander Krung Has Extended Duties, Unable to Attend Military Commission Briefing on Ceasefire Order

Prime Minister Anutin chaired the National Security Council meeting to discuss border issues following Thai soldiers stepping on a landmine at Huai Tamaria, Sisaket province. The council disclosed its resolution to suspend the Thai-Cambodian Peace Declaration.

On 11 November 2025, Anutin Charnvirakul, Prime Minister and Minister of Interior, presided over the 14th meeting of the National Security Council (NSC) at the Wijitrawatkan Room, 3rd floor, NSC Office, Government House. This urgent meeting was prompted by two Thai soldiers injured by a landmine near Huai Tamaria, Kantharalak district, Sisaket province, during a patrol mission. The meeting aimed to consider the Peace Declaration toward Thai-Cambodian border peace and determine Thailand’s approach.

The meeting was also expected to discuss the cancellation of work permit renewals for Cambodian workers. Consequently, throughout the morning, representatives from security agencies attended continuously, including the Ministry of Defence, Ministry of Interior, National Security Council, Ministry of Justice, Ministry of Foreign Affairs, and Ministry of Digital Economy and Society.

Chaiyachon Chidchob, Minister of Digital Economy and Society, commented on the NSC meeting, saying he awaited the Prime Minister but personally believed that "in the bad there is good, and in the good there is bad." He expressed confidence that there would be positive news today and that the Prime Minister would not disappoint the public.

At 10:55 a.m., the Prime Minister emerged after the NSC meeting. When reporters asked if the meeting had decided on retaliatory measures, he replied that he needed to attend the Cabinet meeting first and would then officially brief everyone. When pressed whether the Thai-Cambodian Peace Declaration would be canceled, the Prime Minister responded briefly that it would be "suspended." When asked about the duration of the suspension, Anutin declined to answer and quickly left for the Cabinet meeting at Government Complex Building 1.
