Ministry of Culture Promotes CPOT Internationally with POP-UP Stores at Suvarnabhumi and Don Mueang Airports to Boost Grassroots Economy

The Ministry of Culture plans to introduce CPOT in POP-UP Stores at Suvarnabhumi and Don Mueang airports to support and promote Thai cultural products globally. It also proposes creating a “CPOT Catalog” as a New Year gift and encourages entrepreneurs to join the “Khon La Khrueng” Phase 2 project to sustainably stimulate the grassroots economy.

Ms. Sabida Thaiset, Minister of Culture, revealed that at a recent meeting tracking the progress of the ministry’s policies, she learned about the promotion of Thai cultural products (CPOT) aligned with the policy to elevate goods and services derived from folk or vernacular culture to be contemporary, standardized, and competitive in the global market. This aims to increase value and create economic opportunities for communities. The task force set plans from November 2025 to September 2026 focusing on enhancing CPOT’s image and development by strengthening the brand corporate identity of Thai cultural products, expanding sales channels through e-Commerce, and developing woven products. The plan includes organizing the CPOT Fair, training entrepreneurs to prepare them for participation in the Easy E-Receipt 2.0 tax deduction project, and product development collaborations with notable designers, including national artists and Silpathorn awardees.

Ms. Sabida added that the ministry is preparing to launch CPOT to raise brand awareness widely by showcasing and selling products along with workshops at leading department stores. It will also build partnerships with shops and brands to expand markets. The project to promote the image of Thai cultural products and services will be conducted at Suvarnabhumi and Don Mueang airports under the name “CPOT POP-UP Store,” aiming to present Thai goods to both Thai and international travelers. In celebration of the 2026 New Year, the ministry will produce a “CPOT Catalog” to distribute within government, private sectors, and embassies worldwide, presenting Thai cultural products as New Year gifts reflecting Thai wisdom and pride. Additionally, there are future plans to include CPOT products in the “Khon La Khrueng” Phase 2 initiative to boost domestic consumption, support Thai cultural goods, and drive a sustainable grassroots economy.

The Minister of Culture concluded that advancing the CPOT project is a vital mechanism supporting the "Thai Thai" policy to convert cultural assets into sustainable economic power, generating income for communities and firmly elevating Thailand's image on the global stage.
