Mothers Day Drives Soaring Revenue for Restaurants

Ms. Pranaya Nitananon, Chief Marketing Officer of KTC or Krungthai Card Public Company Limited, revealed that in the first six months of this year, KTC’s card spending grew by 4.4%, surpassing the industry average of 1.2%. The Mother’s Day festival is a period with the highest spending in many categories, as seen in the restaurant category where transactions during Mother’s Day 2024 increased by 50%, with total spending rising 80% compared to normal days. This suggests that despite ongoing economic challenges, consumers still choose to spend to bring joy to their loved ones.

The health and beauty category remains continuously popular, with average spending per bill exceeding 10,000 baht, up 10% from usual days. Particularly, beauty clinics, fitness centers, and health rehabilitation services saw an average spending increase of 17%. Consumers use KTC FOREVER points to redeem discounts or gifts and opt for 0% installment plans to manage expenses efficiently. This year, KTC has arranged wellbeing benefits covering 100 partners.

Meanwhile, the travel category remains highly favored during long holidays. In July, the number of members spending in the travel category increased by more than 10% compared to the same period in 2024, with popular destinations including Chonburi Province, Rayong Province, and Khao Yai in Nakhon Ratchasima Province.
