Phiman Rattaya Throne Hall It is situated south of Dusit Maha Prasat Throne Hall and connected by the Muk Kasan corridor. King Buddha Yodfa Chulaloke the Great commissioned its construction simultaneously with Dusit Maha Prasat Throne Hall.

According to the schedule, the royal water-pouring ceremony for the royal cremation of Her Majesty Queen Sirikit, the Queen Mother, will take place on Sunday, 26 October 2025 at 17:00.

Phiman Rattaya Throne Hall This throne hall is built of masonry and plaster, painted white, and elevated. It features freestanding columns supporting the roof around its perimeter and connects to Dusit Maha Prasat Throne Hall via a hall called the "Muk Kasan."

It is a long hall extending southward, elevated with verandas on three sides: east, west, and south. The verandas are ringed with pillars and topped by a three-tiered Thai-style roof covered with glazed tiles, decorated with chofah, bai raka, and swan tail finials. The front gable is carved with a Brahma figure riding a swan, and the door arches are adorned with glass house patterns and floral designs.

Traditions of Phiman Rattaya Throne Hall

Originally, Phiman Rattaya was the bedchamber for the king and high-ranking royalty.

Later, it became the place for royal water-pouring ceremonies for kings, queens, and royal consorts of various reigns.

For example, in King Rama VI’s reign, when Queen Sri Patcharin, the Queen Mother, passed away, it was arranged as the place for her royal water-pouring ceremony. During King Rama IX’s reign, it was also designated for the royal water-pouring ceremony of His Majesty King Ananda Mahidol, the late King Rama VIII, in 1946.

It was used for the water-pouring ceremonies for Queen Sri Savarindira, the Queen Grandmother, in 1946, and for Queen Rambai Barni, Queen Consort of King Rama VII, in 1984.

When His Majesty King Bhumibol Adulyadej passed away, the royal water-pouring ceremony was also held at Phiman Rattaya Throne Hall, following traditional royal protocol.

Today, it serves as the venue for the royal water-pouring ceremony for Her Majesty Queen Sirikit, the Queen Mother.
