Veena Live-Clears Drama with a Serious Face: Outfit Not Approved, Saddened by Lack of Support for Asian Representatives (Video)

Veena Pawina Singh faced a storm of drama once again. Veena Pawina Singh. Miss Universe Thailand 2025 recently joined the Miss Universe 2025 preliminaries held in Thailand. However, controversies arose regarding her serious look on the opening day, daily outfit rejections, and other drama at the pageant hosted by Thailand that also implicated Veena.

Recently, Veena Pawina went live on TikTok to talk with fans. When asked about wanting the energy from 2023, Veena said, "Sure, I still have the same energy. If you want more flair, I hear you." She added that she would also go live on Instagram. She took the chance to openly address questions, saying, "We're currently discussing outfits. The Saraburi team is coming in to help, with P'Bank and P'Ae joining to strengthen the team again. The Saraburi team will return to push things forward. We're doing our best. We understand that sometimes there are various things, but we won't let mistakes happen. We'll boost the energy."

Veena continued, "You want me to be more flamboyant? Really? Most Thai pageant fans expect contestants to be flamboyant, like from certain countries. But we sometimes forget the culture of being Thai and who I really am. I'm not that flamboyant. Can I do it? Yes, but is that truly me? That's another matter. Sometimes I do have fun and get lively, like in the swimsuit round, but some days, like the evening gown round, might not suit that vibe."

Veena said the pageant is about finding someone who is themselves and naturally attracts people, not a constructed persona. Sometimes outfits come out that people dislike and say they are Veena's dream designs, but she feels they're not. She tries not to comment because she doesn't want anyone to feel bad. One red outfit didn't have a story but had background issues, which is okay—we learn from this. Going forward, outfits must be more carefully chosen. Regarding serving a Farah look, that's doable.

Veena addressed comments about looking serious on the opening day: "Why do people say the contestants looked stressed? I wasn’t stressed or worried at all; it was normal. Maybe it's because of my smoky eye makeup that makes me look serious. I’ll tone down the smoky eye so it’s less intense. In the end, I’m giving my full effort, constantly adjusting and preparing. Please send me your support."

She also spoke about the controversies surrounding the Miss Universe 2025 pageant: "We have to acknowledge that many issues have arisen. But as a contestant and representative of Thailand chosen for this role, I must do my best and keep moving forward. There's no time to wonder if these events will stop or delay us. Thinking like that would prevent us from performing at our fullest during the pageant."

Veena expressed, "To stand here, we have been through so much. It’s not luck that brought us here. So we have to seize the opportunity fully as Thailand's representative. There's no time to feel tired or discouraged—it doesn't cross my mind. Even on days with little sleep, I must keep fighting because this is the final chance. In a few days, the winner will be announced. Let's support each other and keep fighting. I'm fully committed. No matter what happens, as Thailand's representative, I will give my best. We won’t be disappointed or regret it because there’s no room for 'maybe' or less than our best."

She then addressed multiple controversies, including disapproval of some countries and lack of support for Asian representatives: "Let’s be honest—didn’t anyone watch my real conversations with the media? I spoke happily. Let’s not force others to be someone they're not. I’ve watched for years. Sometimes Thai representatives are pressured to be a certain way. If that's not their true self, don’t force it. In the end, people watching can tell if it’s genuine."

Veena continued, "There’s a lot of negative buzz lately. I want to send encouragement to all Asian team representatives. Ultimately, Miss Universe contestants come from various countries and continents to pursue their dreams and represent their nations with pride. The core of Miss Universe that inspired me to compete for many years is its message promoting equality, standing on the same stage to showcase their potential equally. I deeply appreciate and want to see openness, unity, and diversity thrive on the Miss Universe stage."

She honestly said, "I am saddened to see negativity toward some countries and lack of support for Asians. Much of this stems from misunderstandings due to language and cultural differences. The Miss Universe Organization has always promoted peaceful coexistence and unity among all cultures. This is something I want to support and believe in. I hope everyone will help push this forward. No matter what drama occurs, let's focus on our goals and keep fighting."
